High Quality is a priority to the Volusia/Flagler Division Florida Hospitals. The hospitals value the essential role high quality plays in providing cost effective services and improving patient safety. This winter, Florida Hospital will begin to publish current hospital quality data online. This data provides the community with meaningful and easily accessible information about Florida Hospital's quality of care because it represents quality and patient satisfaction measures in a more real-time manner.
Quality indicators, as identified by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, measure and report the quality of hospital care. These indicators undergo extensive validity and reliability testing. They reflect serious medical conditions common among Medicare patients that often result in hospitalization.
The patient satisfaction data show overall satisfaction and the likelihood patients would recommend Florida Hospital to others. This data subset is collected through an independent survey provider and other measurement methods. The surveys ask patients to rate aspects of their hospital stay on a scale of “Best Hospital Possible” (10) to “Worst Hospital Possible” (0). Florida Hospital uses this data to improve its service.
In addition to the quality data, you'll find advice on participating in your health care decisions to achieve better outcomes and links to national hospital quality and patient safety websites.
Florida Hospital wants to be your community hospital of choice. Online access to quality indicators is one more step toward that goal.
